Any of the available PIM configurations can be applied in a mix-and-match environment as dictated by the requirements of the application. On the pages that follow, some examples are provided.
In the example shown above, a Macintosh G3/G4 or an Intel Pentium-based workstation serve as the development environment. This is where the Paracell Navigator development environment resides, and where Paracell applications are developed and tested.
The development platform is connected to an NT-PIM via TCP/IP. The PIM runtime software resides on the Intel-based laptop or desktop as shown. The NT-PIM in turn connects to any number of Macintosh G3/G4 or Intel platforms providing HMIs via ParaScope and LabView. This interface is also accomplished via the TCP/IP protocol.
Note that although it is not depicted, there can be 1 - X NT-PIM platforms interconnected to serve the needs of the application.
